If you love travel, culture and cooking you'll be right at home here. My husband and I are avid travellers, taking new trips around twice a month. I'm a languages graduate from the University of Bath and my fascination with new cultures and languages hasn't disappeared yet. I love to dive into new places, try different foods and see how the locals live. It's through this blog that I will share all of the tips and recommendations I gather on these journeys so that you, too, can have the same amazing experiences.
When we're not on the go, I'm a keen cook and baker. I love finding healthy, homemade recipes to try; mainly to try and compensate for all the calories we consume when travelling! I bake lots of healthy snacks, homemade granolas and wholewheat banana breads. I channel my creativity in the kitchen, pairing new flavours and textures using my husband as my guinea pig! You will find my different creations here on my blog.
Our military life takes us on some crazy adventures with frequent moves. It's a certainly a life I never expected to live. I grew up in Newcastle, England, in a family that has no ties to the military so I really had no idea what I was in for when I met my, now, husband. We are so fortunate to be stationed here in Italy where we can benefit from the many long weekends with exciting trips to nearby towns and countries. In the 10 months I've lived here, we've been to 19 countries together, some more than once. That's not to say it's always fun and easy. My husband is away a lot on different training missions so I have a lot of time to fill in between our travels. It's in these periods that I channel my other interests, such as language (I'm an English as a foreign language teacher) and cooking. I hope to piece all of this together to give travel tips to those hoping to visit the places we have travelled to and to give an insight into the life of the military community here in Italy.
I can't wait to connect with you all.
